As a Program Manager Events, you organize annual events for the high-tech and manufacturing industry. You do not do this alone, but with a multidisciplinary team of colleagues and partners. Connecting people and sharing knowledge and experiences makes you happy. You are therefore in regular contact with companies and cooperation partners to discover which themes and challenges are at play. In this way you ensure that your events remain as current as possible and you create a relevant meeting place for the industry with a strong substantive program.

In the heart of the tech region of the Netherlands you will find the clubhouse for the high-tech and manufacturing industry: Mikrocentrum. Our students, colleagues, but also relations and event visitors meet here every day. As a Program Manager Events you ensure vibrant events. You do this by seeking connections with current, but also potential relations and by introducing them to the possibilities of participating in our trade fairs as an exhibitor or visitor.

Are you organizing a great event?

As a Program Manager for Events you have a passion to implement and further develop existing and new events effectively and efficiently. You have a good understanding of the market and technical developments and you are able to develop concepts and convert them into interesting, new events. As a connector, you are strong in identifying customer needs and know how to respond flawlessly. You love making sure that both the customer and his/her relations have had a top event and that they go home with new contacts and the latest knowledge about current developments.

You are strong in relationship management, but you also know how to bind new relationships to us. You do this by, among other things, conducting customer conversations and advising them about the most suitable options. In addition, you take advantage of every opportunity to grow our event portfolio. In addition, you will work closely with partners to take the event to the next level.

You coordinate the entire process of organizing an event and you provide innovative, surprising elements at both the expo and the program. You also work closely with your colleagues from the Marketing & Communication department, Training and the High Tech Platform to recruit the right exhibitors and visitors. In addition, you are the point of contact for all those involved, both internally and externally.

Organizing and supervising events

Your heart beats faster when you can organize an event. You take care of the script, involve all stakeholders, so that everything is arranged down to the last detail. Together with the project staff of the Events, Marketing & Communication and Training department, you ensure the actual implementation of the event. In short: you are the face of your event and together with your colleagues you ensure its success.

  • You are responsible from start to finish for the organization of one or more events
  • You are the point of contact for exhibitors and visitors to the event
  • You draw up the script
  • You work closely with a multidisciplinary team of colleagues from the Events, Training and Marketing & Communication departments
  • You maintain relationships with collaboration partners and also realize new collaborations


Your profile

  • You have completed a HBO/WO study (in the direction of event management)
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in organizing events
  • Your heart beats faster from technology and technological developments
  • You are enterprising, commercial, creative, communicative strong, social and accurate
  • You are good at advising and an expert at organizing
  • You are eager to learn and curious
