Fort 1881

Stationsweg 80-82, 3151 HS Hoek van Holland, Netherlands

Fort 1881 is a historic event venue in Hoek van Holland, located in a former coastal defense fort on the Nieuwe Waterweg. The authentic corridors, robust details, and characterful spaces give gatherings a distinctive atmosphere. At the same time, there are modern facilities and various options to tailor the location to the occasion.

Organizers can come here for conferences, presentations, meetings, networking events, corporate parties, anniversaries, receptions, and family celebrations, among others. Weddings are also welcome. The fort has been designated as an official wedding venue by the Municipality of Rotterdam and offers historic locations for both the ceremony and the wedding photoshoot.

According to the venue, there are over 70 rooms, with space for plenary meetings of up to 500 people and various smaller rooms for breakout sessions. The covered canal forms a striking space for larger gatherings and can be configured for a variety of programs. For smaller groups and dinners, there is also Bistro-M, located in the former officers' mess.

Fort 1881 offers tailor-made packages including food, drinks, music, and decoration. Business meetings can be enhanced with activities such as a VR experience, laser tag, or a team challenge. This allows organizers to combine a meeting, staff day, or party with a program at the same location. The fort is available for events by appointment. The museum activities are separate from the rental and have their own opening hours.
