Hitchin Town Hall

Hitchin Town Hall is a Grade II listed venue in the centre of Hitchin, offering four spaces for private celebrations, weddings, business events and community activities. Its historic setting combines original architectural details with facilities for contemporary events, and the rooms can be considered individually or together to suit different occasions and group sizes.

Mountford Hall is the largest space, accommodating up to 250 people standing. It is suited to wedding ceremonies and receptions, parties and seated functions, with a sprung floor, stage lighting, sound facilities and tables and chairs. The more intimate Lucas Room can host up to 65 guests and works well for smaller gatherings, meetings and networking. For a distinctive reception or exhibition, the Terrace Gallery accommodates up to 120 people and connects to an outdoor terrace. The Learning Centre, with room for up to 40, provides a setting for workshops, talks, lessons and meetings.

Event organisers can request in-house catering, with options ranging from three-course meals to finger buffets. A staffed bar is also available, and the venue team can discuss room set-up, equipment and event requirements. A duty manager is on hand during events, and the rooms are accessible by lift. The venue has dedicated wedding information and packages, as well as provision for conferences, performances, birthdays, dances and other celebrations.
