Spectacular opening of Midden Nederland Hallen: mobile stands and highest greenhouse steal the show

October 1, 2024

How spectacularly can you upgrade an event location? The Midden Nederland Hallen reopened a completely renovated complex this week, including a brand new theater hall and the highest event greenhouse in the Netherlands.

There is a good chance that the centrally located location on the A30 will storm into the shortlists of agencies and event organizers in the coming weeks. Because the complex gained in appeal and a number of features were added that no location in the Netherlands can match.

One theatre, five different settings

Like the brand new Theaterhal with mobile stands. Where in a 'normal' theater you are stuck with one theater setup, here you can choose from five different settings. Switch to a House of Commons setup with one push of a button during the break of your event? It is possible. And with the mobile LED walls you can create new decors all the time.

The highest greenhouse in the Netherlands

Another asset? These are the two new greenhouses, which have been built on the side of the complex and are connected to each other by a footbridge. The highest point is 14 metres above the ground, and a sea of daylight falls on the natural interior with lots of greenery from all sides. This gives an unparalleled sense of space during, for example, a networking event, awards dinner or conference.

Plug & play industrial event hall

The existing event hall also underwent a metamorphosis, to make it even more suitable for conferences and company parties, among other things. Bars and food corners were added on either side of the plenary hall. And a vide now 'hangs' in the hall. The finishing touches are being put to five sub-spaces there. The adjacent Grand Café is still being transformed into a foyer and sub-spaces are also being added here. This way, you can now switch seamlessly from a plenary programme to break-out sessions.

1 complex, 3 worlds for events

The renovated Midden Nederland Hallen was opened on September 18 with a spectacular evening for over 1600 guests. After a reception in the breathtakingly lit Evenementenkas, they were among the first to see 40-45, the Musical and were given a sneak preview of the location. “One complex, with three worlds,” said Timo Kruft in his speech in which he looked back on a mammoth task. “We only had eight months and settled for nothing less than gold. We succeeded, we made history together.”

Select row of XXL locations

With the recent expansions, the floor space of the Midden Nederland Hallen increased to more than 15,000 square meters. With 5 large halls and more than 15 sub-rooms, the complex is now one of the largest event locations in the Netherlands. Without feeling overwhelming, because the different worlds make the complex suitable for events starting at 100 guests.

Energy neutral and turnkey

The Midden Nederland Hallen also pushed its own boundaries in the area of sustainability. The number of solar panels was expanded to over 3,000, batteries were installed to store sustainable energy. Cooling and heating is done with energy from the ground, technology, catering and furnishings are all already in-house, which saves a lot of transport. This contributes to a low footprint of events in the Midden Nederland Hallen.
