Despite the second hard Corona year, our customers continued to come with this award as a result. This year we took our photo for a grafitti wall by the Belgian artist KIWI. Nicely disturbed photo. However ?😆

With Warbird Rent-A-Willys: An unforgettable ride through local WWII history

The Rent-A-Willys Warbird Route is an unforgettable experience for anyone who wants to learn more about WWII and the region around Grembergen Airport. The tour is well organised, informative and engaging. The authentic Jeeps and the passion of the guide make it a unique experience that you will not soon forget.

In honor of the 80th commemoration of WWII, I participated in the Rent-A-Willys Warbird Route. Behind the wheel of an authentic Willys Jeep, our group explored the area around Grembergen Airport and felt like I went back in time. The ride was more than a tour, it was a compelling journey through the past.
The guide, passionate about local history, shared a wealth of information and anecdotes about World War II in the region. Stories about heroic pilots, secret operations and the courage of the resistance came to life. The maps and photos shown provided additional context and made the experience even more realistic.
The route took us past several locations with historical significance, including aircraft crash sites and bunker remains. It was moving to realize that I was driving in places where crucial events had taken place decades ago.
The Willys Jeep itself contributed to the unique experience. Driving this iconic vehicle, which symbolizes freedom and perseverance, was an unforgettable experience. The Jeep brought me closer to history and allowed me to experience the courage and ingenuity of the soldiers of that time.
The Warbird Route from Rent-A-Willys is more than recommended for anyone interested in WWII. It is a moving and educational experience that takes you to a crucial moment in our history. The combination of authentic vehicles, detailed information and the guide's passion makes this tour a unique experience that you will not soon forget.

Rent-a-willy 8/6/'24

The guide was a very pleasant, friendly man. He was very driven. You saw that he does this with heart and soul. He takes his time to reassure people. He puts safety first. Really great! He has done a lot of research into information about the war in his region. The variety of riding in the willy interspersed with stories from the war was an ideal mix for young and old. A top experience!

Warbird trail

The Warbird route is highly recommended. Certainly for those who are interested in World War 2, but also for people who just want to have a fun afternoon. A reception in wartime style and all kinds of facts about WWII and the Belgian armed forces will immediately put you in the mood. The ride with the Willy's jeep is beautiful! Regular stops are colored with all kinds of stories, anecdotes and testimonies, very entertainingly presented by guide and organizer Philippe who knows what he is talking about. All in all a great experience, one we will definitely repeat!

Rent-a-Willys

A truly unique experience for anyone interested in the history of WWII, but what was fantastic for us (3 generations of father, son and grandson) was driving the jeep on site, an experience for anyone who wants to experience how real driving feels.
The war stories told by the guide also help to put into perspective the “problems” we think we have now.
The atmosphere, conviviality and organization get a 10 out of 10 from us, highly recommended.

Gift for dad

Last year we gave this adventure as a gift to Dad to experience together with us (the 3 children). Seeing him enjoy the ride, the beautiful surroundings, Philippe's enthusiasm and the interesting stories was nice to see. I enjoyed it very much myself, a day I will never forget. Highly recommended!
Philippe, you're doing great!

Nice ride with a Willys

We all enjoyed a nice ride in a Willys, in perfect condition, with luxurious seats. Nice that you can drive yourself. A look back at history with some interesting facts. Super accommodating man. Pleasant reception. Flexible in terms of ride according to options.

Drive a Willys!

Dear ,
Coincidentally, my wife found the Vlaanderen Vakantieland video about a tour in a Willys jeep via Uit in Vlaanderen.
So apparently there was the option to rent a Willys jeep and take a guided tour with explanations about WWII.
Since I am an avid Willys Jeep enthusiast and was still looking for a suitable birthday present, the choice was quickly made.
We (myself, my wife and 11-year-old son) immediately registered for such a tour that would take place in and around Leest.
Once we arrived in Leest that day, we were kindly welcomed by Philippe Deweerdt and his wife.
There was also a Dutch couple present whose wife had also organized this for her husband as a birthday present.
We first received an explanation about how the Willys jeep works, including a test drive.
Then we set out along allotment roads and field roads in and around Leest, including mud and large puddles.
We stopped here and there where we got a detailed explanation of what exactly happened at that place during WWII.
There was also some time to take photos along the way.
The tour ended after about 3 hours.
We found this tour very fun and educational. I especially loved driving the Jeep.
The approach and explanation was very professional. That definitely deserves a 10/10.
Regards ,
Daniel, Christine and Maxim.

Great experience!

Enjoyed a fantastic (surprise) afternoon with the family! Many stories by a true storyteller, a beautiful and surprising route along inland and field roads - also riding with the Willys is an experience in itself!
We'll be back😃

Tour with authentic "Willys Jeeps -old-timers" through the Mechelen fields, looking for traces of the Second World War. We enjoyed the historical guidance with a touch of humor.
There were three of us and we had a nice afternoon.
Recommended !!
