York Barbican

York Barbican is a large, flexible venue in central York, available for organisers planning conferences, meetings, exhibitions, dinners, product launches and other corporate or private events. Its spaces can accommodate gatherings ranging from small groups to audiences of up to 1,400, with different rooms and layouts to suit each occasion.

The venue includes a 1,400-seat auditorium with retractable seating and flexible staging, as well as an exhibition hall, meeting suites, a lounge and a live lounge. The smaller rooms can be arranged for workshops, training, boardroom meetings, theatre-style presentations or standing receptions. The exhibition hall can host displays and stands alongside seating and catering space, while the auditorium is suited to larger conferences and presentations.

Organisers can access in-house audio-visual facilities and technical support. Depending on the space, equipment includes projectors, screens, PA systems, microphones and lighting. A dedicated events team can help with planning, practical requirements, event-day coordination and safety arrangements. Catering is available through the venue's catering partner, with options such as lunches, buffets, street food and private dining. The venue is accessible, offers Wi-Fi throughout and is within walking distance of York railway station, with nearby parking options.

Alongside its event-hire offer, York Barbican hosts a public programme of concerts, comedy, sporting events and family shows. Organisers can contact the conferencing team to discuss the spaces and services available for their event.
