De Vagant is a venue at Utrecht University on Utrecht Science Park, with spaces for social activities and small-scale events. The venue consists of De Huiskamer and De Zaal. Organisers who want to arrange an activity for UU students can book De Zaal. Bookings are available to recognised student organisations and staff of Utrecht University, subject to the applicable conditions. The venue is therefore not intended as a freely bookable hall for every organiser.
De Zaal has standard chairs, poseur tables and a table layout that organisers can adapt. It has a screen and a sound system with an HDMI connection for presentations or audiovisual support. When booking De Zaal, organisers can also use the kitchenette, which includes a fridge, sink and kettle. De Huiskamer has sofas, comfortable chairs and tables, with seating for around 75 people. This space has the feel of an informal meeting place.
De Vagant is suited to student activities, meetings and social events where an accessible campus venue is wanted. The building has a wheelchair-accessible entrance, an accessible toilet and a gender-neutral toilet. There is also storage space for event furniture and a barbecue area. The hall can be used on weekdays until the evening. Bookings are made through the university's system, and access rules depend on who is organising the event and how far in advance the request is submitted. De Vagant therefore offers a practical venue for UU-related activities, with basic facilities and spaces suited to a range of informal gatherings.
