Altar Society Events

ALTAR is an event venue in downtown Long Beach, set inside a restored building dating from 1903. Its historic character comes through in the original wood floors, brickwork, high arched ceilings and decorative details, while the different rooms offer organisers flexibility to shape the setting around their plans.

The venue welcomes weddings and receptions, as well as corporate gatherings such as conferences, presentations, product launches, holiday parties and executive meetings. It also hosts private celebrations including birthdays, engagements, anniversaries, reunions, graduations and showers. Dedicated wedding and corporate event pages make it possible for planners to explore options for each type of occasion.

The property has several event areas across three levels. The main hall, known as The Altar, provides a grand backdrop for larger gatherings, while The Gallerie can serve as a reception or welcome area. The Loft offers a relaxed lounge setting, and The Study and private Suite provide additional spaces for smaller gatherings, VIP guests or pre-event preparation. Organisers can book spaces in combinations suited to their event.

ALTAR lists capacity for up to 200 guests at a seated reception or 600 for a cocktail-style party. Venue features include two bars, wireless internet and lounge furniture, with chairs, round tables, banquet tables and draping also available. In-house catering is offered for social events, and the events team can discuss layouts and arrangements with organisers. Tours are by appointment, giving planners a chance to view the rooms and consider how the historic interiors will work for their event.
