The Dome

The Dome is a historic event venue in St Joseph, Missouri, set inside a former church dating from 1899. Its distinctive Beaux-Arts architecture, marble exterior, mahogany woodwork, stained glass and soaring central dome give the building a characterful setting for celebrations and business gatherings.

Organisers can hire the sanctuary, the ballroom, or both spaces together. The sanctuary can seat up to 900 guests, making it suitable for large ceremonies, conferences and community events. For smaller gatherings and receptions, the 3,200-square-foot ballroom accommodates around 200 guests, depending on the layout. Tables and chairs are available for approximately 180 people, while linens and chair covers can be arranged for an additional charge.

Supporting spaces include a conference-style room that can serve as a preparation area or catering station, two staging rooms behind the sanctuary, foyers for welcoming guests and a lounge. The ballroom can also accommodate a DJ setup, and its heating and cooling provisions help make it usable across the seasons.

The venue welcomes weddings as well as conferences, craft shows and other events. Couples can hold a ceremony and reception in the same building, and rehearsal time is included with a rental. Organisers may bring their own caterer, subject to the building's practical limitations. Beer and wine may be possible by prior arrangement, while rates vary according to the spaces and requirements selected.
