In Matour, CART is a municipal facility that combines a multipurpose hall for events with a space dedicated to cinema. The multipurpose hall can be booked for private or association events, as well as meetings and local gatherings. The municipality publishes rental terms and prices for the space, so organisers can ask the municipal services about making a booking.
The venue is part of village life. The village hall adjoining the cinema was created during municipal works in the early 1990s. It complements an older cultural facility, whose history goes back to a parish hall built in 1935. Today, the cinema has a digital projector and a sound system, and screens films regularly for different audiences. The screenings are run by an association and a team of volunteers.
CART therefore offers organisers a municipal setting suited to local meetings and events, with the option of keeping hire of the multipurpose hall separate from the cinema's public programme. Booking arrangements, applicable prices and availability should be confirmed directly with Matour town hall. The venue is particularly suited to associations and people looking for a space in the municipality to bring their participants together. Its multipurpose role and cultural roots make it a useful facility for local life, while it continues to offer cinema that is accessible to residents and visitors.
