Slate Events

Slate Events offers a distinctive setting for celebrations and gatherings in Argenta, Illinois. Housed in a former church dating back around a century, the venue gives organisers a characterful alternative to a conventional function room. Its historic sanctuary and adjoining side rooms can be hired for wedding receptions, bridal and baby showers, engagement parties, family reunions, company parties and other private or business occasions.

The space is available for hire at weekends, with booking options for shorter events, a full day or an extended weekend. The venue is suited to gatherings of around 100 people, making it a practical choice for intimate-to-mid-sized events. Organisers have access to the sanctuary and side rooms, as well as an upstairs room with a fridge. A Bluetooth sound system is available for playing music, so a separate basic audio setup is not required.

Slate allows organisers to bring in food or arrange catering, giving them flexibility over the event menu and suppliers. Alcohol is also possible when the required liability insurance conditions are met. The building has a wheelchair-accessible bathroom, and the venue welcomes enquiries from organisers planning occasions that need a memorable local setting. With its original church character and adaptable rooms, Slate can accommodate both relaxed family celebrations and company get-togethers.
