In close collaboration with the Belgian Red Cross and the NCCN (National Crisis Centre), FPS Home Affairs and the Verlinden Cabinet, the EVENT Confederation, led by its chairwoman Vinciane Morel, has in recent days set up an aid campaign for the victims of the floods in the east of our country.

In doing so, the sector followed suit by taking action with its logistics know-how and targeting sponsors. Already on Sunday 18 July, a collaboration was concluded with the Belgian Food Truck Federation to make a massive effort for this relief campaign. Since the middle of last week, the sector has been working together, under the leadership of the EVENT Confederation, to use its logistics knowledge and production chain and, through the Red Cross of Belgium, to provide local communities involved with two meals a day in the form of food trucks, mobile canteens and lunch boxes. The Red Cross previously indicated that this will probably be an operation that will take weeks or even months. We are now at a daily capacity of 5,500 meals, but this has yet to grow to 7,500. Hence our appeal within the food trucks and caterers sector to register with Event Confederation and support this action.

We would like to thank all the people and organizations who have stepped in the breach for this good cause. In good and bad times, you can count on people from the wide event sector.

Prachtig initiatief. Een door de corona crisis zwaar getroffen sector die toch opkomt voor mensen in nood. ❤
