PXL-Congress has been a center for lifelong learning and events for 15 years. It brings people together and inspires more than 100,000 visitors a year. In normal times, daily meetings take place between PXL students and professionals such as conferences, trade fairs, annual meetings, .... and soon also the first wedding party!

PXL Potting soil of love

General director Ben Lambrechts explains: “Our university of applied sciences was founded in 1837 in the old Mother House in Hasselt and has countless graduates and an enormous network. Every week a PXL alumnus, colleague or student appears in a wedding photo on social media. You can often read that they met each other at school and/or became a couple during their studies with us. Every year we receive about ten requests to organize a wedding in the PXL and there is no better day than Valentine's Day to announce that we are going to do this from now on." “Whether I can now be booked as a wedding planner or master of ceremonies? I will kindly look after that, but on special request I would like to come and say a short word of thanks for a PXL couple as a host.” laughs Lambrechts.

First PXL wedding couple wanted

Head of the events department Frédérique Meertens explains: “PXL University of Applied Sciences has an extensive portfolio with various multifunctional buildings. We try to use our infrastructure as optimally as possible for education, research and services. Both during school hours and during weekends and school holidays. PXL Congress or building D located on the Elfde-Liniestraat in Hasselt is our most famous building because of the best student restaurant in the region and the many external activities that take place there every day. For the wedding parties we call on a few permanent external caterers in consultation with the couples. Interested parties can get more information via +32 11 77 57 00 or congress@pxl.be
