Kalinka is an acoustic ensemble centered around violinist Pal Szomora. He knows just about all well-known (and also lesser-known) melodies by heart and plays them on request.
The musicians move around among the audience, and the standard and quality of the music are outstanding (as you can also read in the many reviews posted here).
Gradually, background music evolves into a full ambiance, yet not too loud, because the orchestra usually plays without sound amplification (unless it is absolutely necessary).
Accordion, guitar, and double bass provide accompaniment. The cymbalom, a beautiful instrument used primarily in Gypsy music, is also a possibility.
The full lineup is a quartet – a trio suffices for smaller parties – and a duo is also possible.
Kalinka Ensemble performs for your wedding ceremony, wedding, birthday party, anniversary, reception, walking dinner, seminar, or any other private party.
All music genres are covered: lots of French chanson, evergreens, Viennese waltzes, tango, light classical, gypsy jazz, operetta, csardas, Balkan music, and also Flemish sing-alongs whenever the atmosphere is right.
Kalinka is also frequently booked as a stage act both domestically and internationally, at festivals, as a stage concert, or for a theme night.

Kalinka Ensemble recently had the pleasure and honor of playing for Prince Laurent of Belgium. The prince had requested a song and that was "The Lark", a piece of gypsy music in which the violinist imitates a lark on his instrument. There was a lot of champagne and a great atmosphere at that party.

top-notch gypsy music
I booked last minute, the communication went very smoothly, with correct agreements, the musicians were well on time, and played at a very high level, they did not limit themselves to gypsy music but played, especially towards the end, songs on request, almost a kind of live juke box, impressive!

Great music
Kalinka Ensemble really took our party to the next level! The music was great, really enjoyed it. At first discreetly and in the background, but then they played on request, the atmosphere was great.

Exceeded expectations
I found this group by chance via the internet, the contact and appointments went very smoothly, the musicians were on time and played fantastic, it far exceeded my expectations. The violinist feels very good when the music remains in the background, and when it is time to go all out and involve the audience, the atmosphere is full and everyone sings or claps along, a really fun and unique atmosphere.

Nice birthday
We saw Kalinka at work in 't Schipke, there was a lot of atmosphere there, that's why I asked them to come and play on my husband's birthday, and that was a huge success, all guests were full of praise, and so were we, of course, wonderful and honest music full of feeling and passion.

Fantastic violinist
Wonderful how Kalinka accompanied our party, especially the violinist is fantastic, he knows perfectly what to play in every situation, in the background or in the foreground to create ambiance, for every table he played an appropriate song - allowed in 5 years you will come back for sure!😀

Fantastic musicians
I booked them last minute for mood music at a bbq and it was fantastic. They play absolutely anything you ask, and the atmosphere was unforgettable. I especially noticed how the violinist feels perfectly what to do, stay in the background, or go to the people at the right time to create the atmosphere. We also had a Polish guest, and he played a few Polish songs especially for her, which she started singing along. It was beautiful, thank you Kalinka😀

The Kalinka Ensemble happened to play at my garden party a few days ago, and their repertoire is truly vast; they played just about all the requests we made. The violinist in particular is incredible, but the others are too, of course—a delightful little orchestra!

Dear people, this kind of appreciation tastes at least as sweet as thunderous applause in the concert hall. Our secret is that we enjoy doing this, and you also made us feel very welcome; thank you for that reception!😀
