Salt Market Social

Salt Market Social is a converted warehouse venue on North Shields Fish Quay, available for weddings and private hire. Its industrial character and informal atmosphere make it a distinctive setting for couples and organisers planning a celebration with room to make the space their own.

The venue has two different areas. The upstairs Salt Market is an open-plan space suited to larger gatherings, with room for guests to dine, listen to speeches, enjoy live music and dance. Organisers can choose a food vendor and shape the menu to suit their plans. Downstairs, The Loading Bay offers a more intimate option for smaller weddings, casual parties and get-togethers. It has its own bar, stage, DJ van and dance floor, with food available from the on-site Airstream kitchen.

Private hire is offered for a wide range of occasions, including birthdays, engagements, work parties, Christmas celebrations, christenings and celebrations of life. Whether the event calls for a large gathering or a smaller get-together, the team can discuss the date, guest numbers and style with the organiser.

As well as private bookings, Salt Market Social hosts a changing programme of public events, including live music, comedy, daytime clubbing and markets. The venue's active calendar gives planners a sense of its social, music-led character, while the hire options provide a flexible location for their own event. It is based in the Blue Warehouse, a former factory building on the Fish Quay in North Shields.
