Buena Vista by AvantStay

Buena Vista by AvantStay is a private event venue in Thermal, set across more than 40 acres in California's Coachella Valley. Its secluded desert location, freshwater lake and mountain views create a distinctive backdrop for weddings, milestone celebrations, family gatherings and company retreats. The estate combines expansive outdoor areas with accommodation for groups who want to stay together on site.

The property has nine bedrooms across three buildings and can accommodate up to 20 overnight guests. For gatherings, organisers can make use of the lakeside setting, outdoor arena, poolside areas and spaces for dining and socialising. The grounds also include recreational facilities such as a tennis and pickleball court, a volleyball area, bocce and a fire pit, giving guests options to enjoy during a multi-day stay.

A 3,500-square-foot barn is available to contracted event guests for an additional fee. It has exposed beams, heating, air conditioning and an indoor speaker system, offering a sheltered space alongside the estate's open-air settings. The barn is not included with a standard accommodation booking, and events require prior approval and an event fee, so planners should confirm availability, arrangements and costs with AvantStay before making plans.

AvantStay's concierge team can assist with planning and can arrange additional experiences and services, including private chefs, bartending, transport and wellness activities. The venue is also positioned near the Coachella Valley's golf courses and polo grounds, with La Quinta and other regional destinations within driving distance. For organisers, Buena Vista offers a private estate setting where event spaces, leisure amenities and group accommodation can be brought together in one location.
