Historic AI Chapel

Historic AI Chapel is a restored church venue in Oak Ridge, North Carolina, available for weddings, birthday celebrations, showers, corporate hosting and community gatherings. Its historic character gives organisers a distinctive setting for events, while the venue's booking options allow different amounts of time for preparation and hosting.

A half-day booking provides a six-hour event block. For events that need more time, the full-day option includes early access to the chapel on the preceding day, followed by a full day booking. The weekender package gives organisers a whole weekend to decorate, hold the event and clear the space afterwards. Event styling and planning can also be added, covering design concepts, sourcing and planning support.

The building has a long local history. The church structure dates to around 1850 and was renovated in 1901. After falling into disrepair, it was restored over a ten-year period, with work beginning in 2009. The renovated community building opened to the public in 2019 and is managed by the Preservation Oak Ridge Foundation. Original features, including salvaged and restored church pews, remain part of its character.

Event planners can contact the venue to discuss their project and find the package that suits their plans. The chapel is suited to organisers looking for a historic setting for a personal celebration, a wedding-related gathering, a business occasion or a community event. Its range of booking durations offers flexibility for both the event itself and the preparation and tidy-up around it.
