FUNDAMENT is the venue of the Gotha cultural association art der stadt e.V. and has served as a flexible space for in-house productions and touring performances since 2017. The venue is particularly suited to theatre and cultural events looking for a place for performances, encounters and artistic exchange. Its experimental approach makes it suitable for a variety of stage concepts and cultural events.

The association brings many years of theatre work together with activities in art and cultural education. The programme includes theatre productions, children's theatre, intergenerational theatre, touring performances, readings, concerts and other projects. Performances and exhibitions are also part of FUNDAMENT's cultural offering. The current programme shows that the space is used for a range of age groups and formats.

Alongside its events programme, art der stadt e.V. organises workshops and cultural studios in areas such as theatre, dance, music, art and media. Inclusion, participation in decision-making and collaboration between different people are important parts of the association's work. FUNDAMENT is therefore not only a performance venue, but also part of an active socio-cultural offering in Gotha.

Event planners looking for a distinctive venue for a cultural event can contact the association to ask whether FUNDAMENT is available for their project and what conditions apply. The venue is at Ekhofplatz 3 in Gotha, by the Kulturhaus. art der stadt e.V. provides information about the programme and how to get in touch online.
