Dewey Gottwald Center

The Dewey Gottwald Center is a contemporary event venue at the Science Museum of Virginia in Richmond, suited to organisers looking for a spacious, adaptable setting. Its modern architecture and large windows bring natural light into the main event space, which can be arranged for a variety of occasions, including weddings, corporate meetings, fundraisers, vendor shows and wine tastings.

The venue can accommodate up to 500 guests seated. For smaller gatherings, the main space can be divided into two sections, allowing organisers to shape the layout around their guest numbers and programme. The adjoining terrace is included with every Dewey Gottwald Center rental and offers an outdoor setting for ceremonies or drinks receptions. A separate entrance and nearby parking help guests and event suppliers reach the venue directly.

Event planners can also ask about adding access to the museum's Boost exhibition as part of an event. This gives organisers an option for including an interactive activity alongside their main programme. The Science Museum's special events team can discuss availability, pricing and venue arrangements, and help organisers explore the spaces and options available. Preferred caterers are available through the museum, while the venue's adaptable layout supports different event formats and set-ups.

Whether planning a wedding reception, a business gathering or a public-facing showcase, organisers can consider the Dewey Gottwald Center as a dedicated venue with indoor and outdoor space. Its combination of a flexible event floor, terrace and museum setting offers a distinctive backdrop for gatherings in Richmond.
