McNichols Civic Center Building
- 144 W Colfax Ave, Denver 80202, USA
McNichols Civic Center Building is a historic venue at the northwest corner of Denver's Civic Center Park. Originally built as a Carnegie Library, the Greek Revival building later became an arts and culture hub with spaces available for public and private events. Its central location and distinctive architecture have made it a setting for receptions, conferences, exhibitions and other gatherings.
Before the current renovation, the building offered several bookable indoor spaces, including a gallery, a conference room and larger floors, alongside a courtyard and lawns. The venue has previously provided basic furniture, setup and post-event cleaning, with additional equipment and support available by arrangement. Organisers could work with their own suppliers, subject to the building's operating guidelines.
The building is currently closed for a revitalisation project that began on 10 November 2025. The work includes plans for a museum space, a restaurant, outdoor dining and an arts marketplace. Private event bookings are not currently available, and the venue says it expects to welcome private bookings on the third floor after reopening in late 2027. Event planners should therefore treat this as a future venue option rather than a space available for an upcoming event.
Owned by the City and County of Denver and operated by Denver Arts & Venues, McNichols combines a landmark setting with a planned return as an event space. Organisers considering it for a later date can monitor official construction updates for reopening information and future booking arrangements.
