Alford Corn Exchange Community Group

Alford Corn Exchange is a historic, centrally located venue available to hire for private celebrations, weddings, community gatherings and business events. Its Grade II listed Italianate building dates from 1856 and offers a distinctive setting in the Market Place, with a sprung dance floor and stage.

The venue can host birthday and anniversary parties, wedding receptions, funeral teas, fundraising functions, auctions, club activities, meetings and conferences. Organisers can hire the main hall, with additional spaces including a café and bar area, kitchen and upstairs lounge. The hall is air conditioned, and the venue has wheelchair access and an accessible toilet. Tables and chairs are available, and a licensed bar can be arranged when booking.

For wedding receptions, the venue offers a dedicated package with use of the main hall, café area and kitchen, along with tables, chairs, crockery and cutlery. Optional extras include help with setting up, chair covers, linen and waiting staff. The team can discuss individual requirements and arrange a viewing before a booking is confirmed.

Funeral tea packages are also available, with buffet menus that can be adapted to suit the gathering. The main hall can seat larger groups, while the refurbished Theatre Bar and Café Area provides a more intimate option. Hirers book directly with the community group, which provides hire information and an application process. Alford Corn Exchange also runs a programme of public activities and performances, making it a well-used community venue as well as a bookable space for local organisers.
