Melrose Memorial Hall

Melrose Memorial Hall is a city-owned venue in Melrose, Massachusetts, available to organisers planning performances, concerts, meetings, fundraisers, banquets, dance events and community celebrations. The historic Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building offers two distinct spaces, so organisers can consider a large auditorium or a smaller room depending on the format and guest numbers.

The main auditorium can accommodate up to 800 people in auditorium-style seating, or around 250-300 guests at tables. It includes a 30-by-40-foot stage, dressing rooms and a sound system, making it suitable for live performances, recitals, talks and larger gatherings. On-site custodial staff are provided for events.

For smaller occasions, the GAR Room can host up to 100 people and sits beside a commercially equipped kitchen. Organisers may enquire about hiring the main hall, the GAR Room, or both, subject to availability and the venue's rental terms. The building also offers rehearsal rentals for stage and dressing-room use, with a Marley floor available for dance events.

The hall is used for a range of local and cultural activities, including concerts, theatre, dance rehearsals, sports banquets and community programmes. It is also available for private and organisational events, with rental dates listed on the venue calendar. Organisers can contact the Executive Director to check availability, discuss their planned use and obtain application details. The venue's city-managed website provides building information, rental rules and rates, and practical guidance for prospective renters. Its central Melrose location and two different function spaces make it a flexible option for events that need either a stage-led auditorium or a more intimate gathering room.
