Rounds Arena

Rounds Arena is an outdoor venue in Rapid City, South Dakota, available to organisers for equestrian events and other suitable gatherings. Set within the Central States Fairgrounds, it measures 150 by 300 feet and includes a built-in return alley. The arena can also be configured for team roping, with roping boxes and a catch pen.

Its open layout makes the space particularly suited to activities that need room for horses, competitors and spectators. Typical uses include jackpot team roping, jackpot barrel racing, youth playdays and youth horse shows. The arena is also used for mutton bustin' during the Central States Fair. Many bookings are for one-day events, making it a practical option for organisers planning a competition, show or community programme.

Rounds Arena is both available for rental and open for public use when it has not been contracted for an event. Organisers can enquire with the fairgrounds about hiring the arena and discuss the arrangements their event requires. It sits in the south-west corner of the grounds, behind the Central States Fair office, and shares the wider fairgrounds setting with other event facilities. For planners seeking an outdoor arena in the Rapid City area, Rounds Arena offers a dedicated space for horse-focused events, with a layout that can be adapted to team roping and a location accustomed to hosting equestrian activities.
