The Bank

The Bank is a historic event venue in downtown Chestertown, Maryland, offering organisers a distinctive setting for weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, showers, corporate gatherings and milestone celebrations. The space was originally the lobby of the Chestertown Bank and retains architectural features that give events a strong sense of place, including tall arched windows, a high ceiling, an octagonal skylight and a chandelier. Its original tiled centre sits within a hardwood floor, creating a natural area for dancing. A walk-in bank vault, still lined with safe deposit boxes, adds an unusual feature for guests to discover.

The venue is available for full-day hire, giving organisers time to arrange the room, welcome guests and celebrate. Tables and chairs are included, with ivory linens available for an additional charge. Organisers can choose their own vendors, allowing them to shape the event around their plans and preferences. The Bank does not require clients to use a specified supplier list.

Capacity depends on the event format: the venue accommodates up to 80 guests for a seated dinner, 120 for a cocktail reception and 64 when dancing is included. This makes it well suited to intimate weddings and smaller social or business occasions where atmosphere and a historic setting matter. The Brittland Estates team offers venue tours by appointment and can help with availability and site logistics, while organisers work with their chosen suppliers to bring their event together.
