Freemantle Hall

Freemantle Hall is a community venue on Bexley High Street, available for private hire and regular bookings. Its Victorian building dates from 1894 and continues to serve local residents, groups and event organisers looking for a practical space in Bexley Village.

The main hall measures approximately 16.3 by 9.4 metres and can seat around 100 to 120 people, depending on the layout. A smaller back room provides space for groups of about 25. Hirers can use tables and chairs, while the kitchen has a ceramic hob and sinks for basic food preparation. Crockery, cutlery, an oven and a fridge are not provided, so organisers should plan accordingly.

The hall is suitable for children's parties, community activities, classes and other permitted local events. Regular block bookings can be arranged, and one-off hires are available in morning, afternoon or evening sessions, with a minimum booking period. Weekend hire is also offered. The venue's rules exclude weddings, adult parties, wakes and religious groups, so organisers should check that their event fits the hall's permitted uses before making an enquiry.

There is a small private car park beside the hall, with additional public parking nearby. The building has direct side access, though some areas, including the kitchen and back room, are reached by steps. Freemantle Hall is a straightforward choice for organisers seeking a community-focused space with flexible layouts and useful basic facilities in the centre of Bexley.
