Rockport Opera House

Set in Rockport Village overlooking the harbour, Rockport Opera House offers event organisers a historic venue for performances, meetings, weddings and private gatherings. The 1891 building combines period character with practical facilities for a wide range of occasions, from concerts and theatre to lectures, fundraisers, dinners, dances and family celebrations.

The main auditorium has flexible seating for up to 350 guests, including balcony seating, and can be arranged to suit different event formats. A stage with theatrical lighting and sound supports live performances, while projection, high-speed internet and livestreaming facilities can assist presentations and hybrid arrangements. There is also a backstage Green Room for performers and speakers.

For smaller gatherings, meetings and workshops, the Geoffrey C. Parker Meeting Room accommodates up to 75 people. It has access to the kitchen and restrooms, and can be configured for different seating layouts. The kitchen is available to support catering brought in for events.

Weddings are a featured use of the venue. The auditorium can be adapted for ceremonies and receptions, with space for a seated celebration, dance floor and live music or a DJ. Its coastal village setting, historic interior and nearby accommodation and dining give organisers useful options when planning a wedding or other special occasion.

Rockport Opera House is owned and managed by the Town of Rockport and is open year-round. Organisers can enquire about availability, rental arrangements and technical requirements to find a suitable setup for their event.
