The Subscription Rooms

The Subscription Rooms is a flexible event venue in the centre of Stroud, offering a collection of distinctive spaces for organisers planning weddings, business events, performances and private celebrations. Housed in a historic building, it combines period character with practical facilities for a wide range of occasions.

The venue can accommodate events for small groups through to gatherings of up to 500 people. Its Regency-style Ballroom is suited to conferences, fairs, parties, wedding receptions and live performances, while smaller rooms provide settings for meetings, training, interviews, workshops and classes. The Art Deco Bar can host private parties, wedding celebrations and smaller shows. Central Bar & Kitchen and the outdoor forecourt add further options for informal events, markets and community activities.

Organisers can discuss the layout and requirements of their event with the venue team, who provide tailored quotations. Technical facilities are available, and the spaces have high-speed fibre-optic broadband. Catering options can be arranged, with wedding packages offering choices ranging from a formal wedding breakfast to a more relaxed street-food menu. The venue team can also help couples connect with local wedding suppliers.

The Subscription Rooms explicitly welcomes wedding ceremonies and receptions, with rooms suitable for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations. Beyond weddings, the venue supports corporate meetings, conferences, training days, exhibitions, auctions, rehearsals and parties. Community and charity rates are available on request, making the venue an option for organisers seeking a characterful, centrally located space for events of different sizes and styles.
