Old Major

Old Major is an event space and bar in Baltimore's Pigtown neighbourhood, offering a setting for organisers bringing people together for community, cultural and creative gatherings. Its programme includes book events, author talks, readings, music, film screenings, art exhibitions, comedy, karaoke and other social activities. The venue also welcomes community groups and nonprofit organisations for events and get-togethers.

For event planners, Old Major offers more than a place to meet. Guests can enjoy food and drinks from the bar and kitchen during event evenings, with a tropical-inspired menu and cocktails alongside other beverages. That combination makes the space suited to gatherings where attendees want to socialise, eat and drink as part of the occasion, as well as take part in a programme or performance.

The venue has an independent, neighbourhood character and a strong connection to local artists, writers and community groups. Organisers considering a reading, small performance, screening, exhibition or informal group gathering can explore whether the space fits their format and arrangements directly with the venue. Its regular activities offer a sense of the different kinds of events it can host, while the location in Southwest Baltimore gives guests a neighbourhood setting just west of downtown and the stadiums.

Old Major is based at 900 S Carey Street, Baltimore, Maryland. Event planners can contact the business to discuss the venue and available arrangements for their gathering.
