Greysolon Ballroom by Black Woods

Greysolon Ballroom by Black Woods is a historic Duluth venue for weddings, business events and social occasions. Set in the former Hotel Duluth, it offers two distinctive spaces: the grand Ballroom and the Moorish Room. Both bring period character to ceremonies, receptions, dinners and gatherings, while flexible layouts can be arranged for seated meals, dancing, presentations or a cocktail reception.

The Ballroom accommodates events of up to 375 guests and features ornate chandeliers, hand-painted ceilings, mahogany details and access to adjacent spaces, including a separate bar area. The Moorish Room offers an intimate alternative for up to 200 guests, with murals, a restored mosaic dance floor and a mahogany bar. Wedding packages are available for both rooms, with options designed for different budgets. The Ballroom also has a bridal suite, while the Moorish Room offers dedicated dressing facilities for the wedding party.

For corporate organisers, the venue hosts meetings, board sessions and multi-day conferences, with theatre, classroom, crescent and banquet seating arrangements. It also welcomes fundraisers, galas, holiday parties and other celebrations. The events team works with organisers on room layouts, planning details and tailored menus. Black Woods provides food and beverage service, with menu choices that can be adapted to the occasion and guests. The venue is connected to the Sheraton Hotel, offering nearby accommodation and additional breakout space for conference attendees. Organisers can arrange a tour and discuss the room and package options directly with the team.
