The Chase Mill at Tracy Aviary

The Chase Mill at Tracy Aviary is a distinctive Salt Lake City venue for weddings, receptions, corporate gatherings and private celebrations. Built as a gristmill in 1852, the historic building sits within Tracy Aviary at Liberty Park, surrounded by landscaped grounds and views across the swan pond.

The venue combines three indoor floors with outdoor spaces, giving organisers different settings for a single event. The rental areas include the mill, an event lawn, an amphitheatre, a patio and a deck beside the pond. The main floor can seat up to 80 guests, while the basement and upper floor offer further space. The mill can host up to 150 people for seated or open-house-style events. For larger outdoor gatherings, the lawn can accommodate up to 200 guests standing or 150 seated.

Couples can host their wedding celebrations here, while the venue also welcomes corporate events, meetings, retreats, birthdays, graduations, fundraisers and celebrations of life. The site is available to hire year-round, and most of the mill and surrounding event spaces are wheelchair accessible. Facilities include a private dressing room, accessible toilets and a small catering kitchen. Organisers may choose their own caterer, and Tracy Aviary offers selected furniture, sound and presentation equipment for hire. Bird visits can also be requested for an additional fee.

Set within an aviary and a historic park, the Chase Mill offers event planners a choice of indoor and outdoor settings with a characterful sense of place. Organisers can contact the rental coordinator to discuss availability and arrange a tour.
