Merchant Square

Merchant Square is a flexible event venue in Glasgow's Merchant City, set within the characterful surroundings of a former fruit market. Its central feature is a distinctive cobbled courtyard, framed by bars and restaurants, which organisers can hire for private events or commercial occasions. The space can be booked with or without catering, and exclusive use is available for events that need a dedicated setting.

The venue suits a broad range of formats, from conference networking dinners and gala dinners to award ceremonies, fashion shows and product launches. It also welcomes pop-up fairs, markets, festivals, ceilidhs and sports broadcasts, giving organisers scope to plan both seated gatherings and lively public-facing events. The courtyard's location among food and drink operators gives planners options for arranging hospitality alongside their programme.

Merchant Square also hosts its own programme of public events, including markets, live sport screenings and seasonal celebrations. For organisers, this provides a venue with experience accommodating different audiences and event styles in a busy city-centre setting. Its mix of historic character, a covered courtyard and nearby hospitality makes it a practical option for corporate functions, community occasions, launches and cultural events. Enquiries can be made through the venue's event hire form, where organisers can discuss their event requirements with the team.
