The Tent People

The Tent People creates welcoming event spaces that bring people together outdoors. Based in Hayfield in the High Peak, the social enterprise has developed a distinctive tented setting for gatherings that benefit from fresh air, a relaxed atmosphere and a connection with the surrounding landscape. Its pop-up base operates seasonally, with the tented space used for employee wellbeing days, leadership training, retreats and community events.

The adaptable setting can suit organisers looking for a change from a conventional meeting room, whether the brief is a team day, a learning programme or an informal group gathering. The Tent People also takes its pop-up tent venue on tour, bringing outdoor event space to different locations. Refreshments and pizza are part of its offer, adding a social element to selected occasions.

For year-round indoor activity, The Tent People also runs music and arts events at The George Hotel in Hayfield. The historic coaching inn includes bedrooms, a bar, a kitchen and event space, providing an indoor counterpart to the seasonal tent programme. The organisation's work has a strong community focus, with an emphasis on inclusive experiences and bringing arts and cultural activity to rural areas.

Event planners considering the tented space should confirm the seasonal dates, location, available facilities and arrangements for their particular event. The combination of outdoor surroundings, flexible gathering space and an established local arts programme makes The Tent People an option for organisers seeking a more informal setting for corporate or community occasions in the High Peak.
