Kay McFarland Japanese Garden & Venue

Kay McFarland Japanese Garden & Venue offers event organisers a distinctive setting within the Topeka Zoo & Conservation Center in Topeka, Kansas. Its Japanese-inspired garden, with koi ponds, bridges, carefully tended greenery and traditional architectural details, provides a peaceful backdrop for ceremonies, photographs and outdoor gatherings.

The adjoining indoor venue gives organisers a practical space for receptions and other occasions, with capacity for up to 230 guests. The garden and indoor room can be used together, making it possible to hold a wedding ceremony outdoors before moving inside for the reception. The venue also welcomes business events, holiday parties, birthdays, anniversaries and other private celebrations. Its indoor space offers an option for events in any season or when the weather changes.

Organisers can bring in their preferred caterer or provide their own food. Beverage service is arranged through the venue. The events team can discuss availability, rental details and event requirements, and prospective clients can arrange a tour before booking. The venue is suitable for planners seeking a garden setting with a dedicated indoor space, rather than a purely outdoor location. Its position within the zoo also gives the setting a character distinct from a conventional function room, while the private event space supports a range of gathering styles, from wedding receptions to corporate functions.
