The Launchpad

The Launchpad is an arts-focused venue in downtown Carbondale, offering indoor studios and outdoor gathering spaces for organisers seeking a distinctive setting. Its spaces are used for performing arts, movement, music and theatre, and can also be booked for approved special events such as fundraisers, engagement parties and graduation celebrations.

The venue has two professional-grade studios. Studio C is an enclosed space with a sprung dance floor, ballet barres and mirrors, while the larger Open Studio has a sprung floor and rigging for aerial arts. The Open Studio can also be adapted for intimate performances. These rooms suit rehearsals, workshops, classes and selected private events, subject to approval and availability.

For outdoor occasions, organisers can enquire about the patio, small amphitheatre, gardens and sculpture garden. Together, these areas offer options for gatherings that benefit from an artistic, community-centred atmosphere. The site also includes an art gallery and promenade, which hosts exhibitions, adding a creative dimension to the venue.

Bookings are made through an online reservation system after contacting management for event approval. Organisers should allow time for set-up and pack-down, complete the venue's required paperwork and orientation, and provide insurance documentation. Special event rates are available by the hour or for a full day, with an additional cleaning charge potentially applicable. Availability and suitability depend on the event, the spaces requested and the venue's approval process, so planners should contact the team before making arrangements.
