Haw River Ballroom

Haw River Ballroom is a riverside event and music venue in Saxapahaw, North Carolina, set within a former cotton mill dye house. Its historic character, river views and adaptable spaces make it a distinctive setting for weddings, private celebrations and business gatherings.

The venue has three levels, with a main stage, mezzanines, a riverside deck and a courtyard. Depending on the event, organisers can arrange a ceremony, dinner, reception or dance party in different parts of the building. An outdoor riverside amphitheatre next door is also available to rent separately. The venue welcomes a broad range of occasions, including parties, fundraisers, conferences, reunions, dances, workshops, training sessions, rehearsals, screenings and photo or video shoots.

For weddings and events with live entertainment, the Ballroom provides a full stage, professional sound and lighting, and acoustics suited to performances and speeches. The building is climate controlled and uses solar and geothermal power. A coffeehouse inside the venue can also serve as a gathering point during an event. Food is not provided by the Ballroom itself, but wedding organisers can choose from local catering partners and other recommended suppliers.

The venue offers a welcoming setting for couples and guests with different access needs, and has parking options around Saxapahaw. Event planners can contact the team to discuss a private hire, explore possible room arrangements and arrange a tour. With its combination of historic architecture, flexible indoor and outdoor areas, riverside surroundings and built-in production facilities, Haw River Ballroom can accommodate celebrations and organised events in a setting quite unlike a standard function room.
