The Tunnel

The Tunnel is a distinctive private event venue beneath the Hilton Capitol Center in downtown Baton Rouge. Set within a historic underground passage, it offers organisers a characterful setting for intimate receptions and celebrations, with the atmosphere of a 1920s speakeasy. A discreet entrance and the venue's striking history give guests a memorable arrival and plenty to talk about.

The space can be arranged for different kinds of gatherings. The Tunnel welcomes intimate receptions for groups of up to 50, while a seated, multi-course dining experience is available for groups of up to 20. Organisers can discuss customised lighting and music to help shape the mood around their occasion. The venue's casual seating, period-inspired character and private setting make it suited to social events where guests can mingle, enjoy a meal or drinks, and explore the tunnel itself.

The venue also hosts occasional public speakeasy activations and special themed nights. Its drinks programme draws on classic cocktails, and light bites are offered during speakeasy service. Menus and arrangements can vary by booking, so event planners should confirm the available food, drinks, dates and event format directly with the team. Located at the Hilton Capitol Center, The Tunnel gives organisers a distinctive downtown location for a small-scale private event, with an unusual historic backdrop and options to personalise the experience.
