The Evergreen

The Evergreen is a historic event venue in Portland's inner south-east, offering a distinctive setting for weddings, corporate gatherings and private celebrations. Its restored building combines original character with a modern industrial feel, high ceilings, natural light and event-ready sound and lighting. The main space can accommodate up to 560 guests standing or around 200 for a seated dinner, making it suitable for both large receptions and more intimate occasions.

Organisers can consider the venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions, company parties, conferences, networking events, fundraisers, milestone birthdays, filming and celebrations of life. The team works with clients on room layouts and event details, and provides an on-site venue contact during events. Wedding couples can enquire about limited day-of coordination. The venue also offers a private suite that can serve as a wedding preparation room or a green room.

Food is arranged through an approved group of full-service caterers, with recommendations available to help match an event's style and budget. The Evergreen has a built-in bar and can help shape custom drinks menus. Its basement space, Voysey, is separately bookable for private gatherings of up to 65 people, including cocktail hours, smaller corporate events and wedding after-parties. The team can also discuss using the nearby Loyal Legion for drinks or event functions.

Located close to downtown Portland and the convention centre, The Evergreen gives event planners a characterful city-centre option with adaptable spaces, technical amenities and practical support throughout the planning process.
