Bickham Barn

Bickham Barn is a rustic, family-run venue on an organic farm near Kenn, just outside Exeter. Set in a Devon valley, it offers a relaxed countryside setting for weddings, private celebrations and other gatherings. The barn's exposed beams, timber floors and whitewashed walls give the space a characterful, informal feel, while its open layout leaves organisers free to shape the day around their own ideas.

The venue takes a flexible, do-it-yourself approach. Couples and event planners can hire the barn as a backdrop and bring in their preferred suppliers, or ask the team for help with practical arrangements and local recommendations. The barn can accommodate around 90 guests for a seated meal, with the option of a marquee to provide more space. Long tables and benches are available, and the venue has a fully fitted kitchen and licensed bar. Organisers can use their own caterer, and the farm can offer ingredients grown or reared on site, alongside suggestions for local produce and suppliers.

For wedding bookings, hire includes access across several days so there is time to set up and clear away. The venue also offers use of a two-bedroom self-catering cottage as part of the wedding arrangement. Camping space for around ten tents is available for guests staying overnight. For other events, the barn can be booked on different days of the week, with facilities such as heating, basic cutlery and a sound system available depending on the arrangement.

With its rural setting, adaptable hire and on-site facilities, Bickham Barn suits organisers looking for a personal celebration or event rather than a tightly packaged venue experience.
