The Grotto

The Grotto is a distinctive event space on the River Walk, set within the Henry B. González Convention Center in downtown San Antonio. Its riverside location offers organisers a setting that feels markedly different from a conventional indoor function room, with trees and foliage, a waterfall and views of the surrounding River Walk environment. The space stretches alongside Bridge Hall, giving guests room to gather and mingle in a relaxed, scenic setting.

The venue is particularly suited to large receptions, celebrations and social gatherings connected with conferences or other events at the convention centre. The centre describes the Grotto as able to host a reception for up to 2,500 people. Its room specifications also list a 15,810-square-foot area and a banquet layout for 320, so organisers should confirm the available configuration and capacity for their proposed format when making an enquiry.

As part of a major convention centre, the Grotto sits among a wider range of event facilities, with floor plans and room specifications available to support planning. The setting combines the practical advantage of a downtown venue with a more natural, sheltered atmosphere beside the water. It can suit organisers seeking a memorable reception location for conference delegates, business guests or other large groups, as well as those looking for a distinctive place to host a party. The Grotto is located at the Henry B. González Convention Center, close to the San Antonio River Walk and the city's central visitor attractions.
