Civic Centre

Civic Centre offers a suite of rooms for hire in central Chelmsford, suited to business meetings, presentations, conferences and other organised events. Its rooms can accommodate groups from 8 to 200 people, with several spaces offering different layouts to suit the format of the day. The Council Chamber is the largest option, with tiered auditorium seating and room for theatre, boardroom, cabaret or classroom arrangements. Smaller meeting rooms provide space for discussions, training sessions and presentations, including options for groups of up to 60 and compact boardroom meetings for up to eight.

High-specification audio-visual equipment is available in key rooms, and the Marconi Room is equipped for in-person and hybrid meetings. A separate reception area adds useful space around the meeting rooms. The venue is located in the city centre, close to Chelmsford railway station and next to the bus station. Nearby car parks, lift and ramp access to the first-floor rooms, and bike racks offer practical arrival options for delegates.

The venue is operated by Chelmsford City Council and bookings are handled through an enquiry process. Organisers can discuss their preferred dates, room layout and expected attendance with the venue team. The Civic Centre's meeting rooms are scheduled to close from 26 October 2026 until 4 January 2027, so planners should check availability for dates in that period and beyond.
