Vrijetijdscentrum De Kruierie is a municipal venue hire service for organisers looking for a space in Balen for an activity or event. The centre has a range of rooms, including a multi-purpose hall, exhibition space, educational rooms, meeting rooms, music rooms and a reading café. The multi-purpose hall has technical equipment and a telescopic seating stand, making it suitable for gatherings and activities with a stage or presentation layout.

The halls are available for events, meetings, workshops, courses, talks, information evenings, exhibitions, receptions and rehearsals, among other things. Associations and private individuals can also apply to use the spaces. A commercial rate applies to businesses and institutions. The hall available and the conditions depend on the type of activity and the number of participants. The municipality provides an overview of spaces through its venue finder, along with information to help you choose a suitable location.

In addition to the rooms at De Kruierie, organisers can ask the municipality about other spaces at the community centre, spread across Balen and its districts. These include multi-purpose halls, school dining halls, meeting rooms and a former chapel. The presbytery in Olmen is also available to hire for activities and events.

A booking can be requested online, by telephone or at reception. A hire contract is drawn up after the request has been submitted. Drinks and equipment options are also available when using a room at De Kruierie, in accordance with the applicable regulations. Please note: the halls at De Kruierie are not available to hire for private parties such as weddings, communion celebrations or dance parties.
