The Block

The Block is a distinctive live music and event venue in downtown Muskegon, set within the historic Russell Block Building. Its intimate listening-room character makes it a natural choice for concerts and recitals, while the flexible space is also available to event planners for private and business occasions.

Depending on the layout, the venue can host groups of around 10 to 175 guests. Organisers can consider it for weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, showers, fundraisers, holiday parties, reunions, awards banquets, meetings, training sessions and retreats. Seating and staging can be arranged for different formats, from a presentation or seated gathering to a more informal reception. The room's exposed brick, restored maple floor, high beamed ceiling, balcony and large windows create a warm historic setting with views of Muskegon Lake. A rooftop terrace and full-service bar add further options for guests.

The Block provides modern audiovisual equipment, including projection facilities, wireless connectivity and music speakers. A portable stage and Steinway grand piano are also available by arrangement, and the venue includes a private dressing-room suite. Event planners can work with preferred caterers or arrange their own catering, with options such as dinners, buffets, hors d'oeuvres and drinks at the bar.

Located close to downtown hotels, restaurants, shops and cultural attractions, The Block is a practical base for local gatherings and multi-day visits. The venue is barrier-free and smoke-free, and offers parking nearby. Its combination of concert-room acoustics, historic details and adaptable event facilities suits organisers looking for a compact, characterful setting in Muskegon.
