The Capen House

The Capen House is a historic venue in Winter Park, Florida, set within the grounds of the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens. Its restored house, landscaped gardens and lakeside setting offer event planners a distinctive location for weddings, corporate gatherings and private celebrations.

The property includes more than 2,500 square feet of event space, five rooms in the historic house, an indoor veranda, a lakefront patio and a private dock overlooking Lake Osceola. The grounds span three and a half acres, giving organisers options for outdoor ceremonies, receptions and tented events. Indoors, original architectural features and heart pine floors provide a historic backdrop, while the Grand Hall can accommodate a DJ or live band. The venue also has audio-visual equipment, wireless internet, a catering preparation kitchen and a hospitality suite for wedding parties.

Organisers can book the property for weddings, business meetings, luncheons, galas, holiday functions, birthdays, showers and other social occasions. Rentals typically include an eight-hour event period and use of the house, lawn, courtyard, patio and dock. The venue provides event assistants, and clients can add an in-house day-of coordination service for vendor coordination, timelines, layouts and on-site support. Catering, event rentals, valet and pet care are arranged through approved vendors, while organisers may choose their own planner, florist, DJ and other suppliers. A venue tour can be arranged by appointment, allowing planners to explore the spaces and discuss how the property may suit their event.
