Lucky 8 Ranch

Lucky 8 Ranch offers a distinctive setting for weddings and other special gatherings on a family-run, 3,000-acre working bison ranch near Oak Creek, around 35 minutes from Steamboat Springs. Its wide-open ranch landscape, mountain views and private valley give organisers room to plan an occasion with a strong sense of place.

For weddings, couples can choose a mountain-view ceremony lawn and a separate reception area with a tent. The venue provides practical infrastructure such as event power, restrooms, lighting and guest seating, alongside venue-owned décor and layout options. Packages range from a wedding-day celebration to a longer ranch-weekend experience, with options that may include an additional gathering, such as a welcome party or farewell brunch. Some packages also offer ranch activities and added venue support.

The property also welcomes selected non-profit and special events, including fundraisers, corporate dinners, retreats, seminars and business conventions. Event arrangements can be tailored to the occasion, with items such as tents, tables, chairs, a PA system, heating, decorations and lighting available as part of a customised rental package. Organisers can also ask about ranch activities for guests, including ATV tours, hay rides, snowmobile tours and carriage rides.

Lucky 8 Ranch is an outdoor venue, so its spaces suit planners seeking scenery and room to gather rather than a conventional ballroom. The venue team is available to discuss access, setup and event requirements, while organisers can bring in their own catering and other suppliers. Its combination of working-ranch character, mountain surroundings and event facilities makes it a potential choice for intimate elopements, larger weddings and selected private or corporate occasions.
