Herberg Macharius is a neighbourhood meeting place in Coyendanspark in Gent. The venue is managed by Buren van de Abdij and serves as both an inn and a place for activities and gatherings. Organisations and associations can apply to use the space for private activities. The manager assesses each application to see whether the group and its planned use are a good fit and whether the venue is available on the requested date.

The inn is therefore particularly suitable for organisers looking for a place to hold a gathering or activity in an informal, local setting. It is not a general-purpose function venue for private parties: birthday parties and wedding receptions are expressly not accepted. Regular opening hours are also limited to Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons, although activities take place at other times. Anyone wishing to use the space should contact Buren van de Abdij to discuss the options, availability, rates and terms of use.

The location in Coyendanspark is easy to reach on foot and by bike. Gent-Dampoort station is about a 700-metre walk away, and there is a bus stop nearby. The venue is part of the social and cultural life of the Macharius-Heirnis neighbourhood, with activities and gatherings organised by the managers and partner organisations. For event planners representing an association or organisation and looking for a suitable space for a private gathering, Herberg Macharius offers a characterful base in Gent. Check the conditions in advance, as each application is assessed individually.
