1 Wimpole Street

1 Wimpole Street is a central London venue for organisers planning conferences, meetings, training sessions, exhibitions, corporate events and weddings. Owned and operated by the Royal Society of Medicine, the venue combines purpose-built auditoriums and smaller meeting rooms with distinctive spaces for dining, receptions and celebrations. Its range of rooms suits both focused gatherings and larger programmes with several event elements taking place under one roof.

Organisers can choose from spaces including the Max Rayne Atrium, with its vaulted glass ceiling, and the book-lined Wheatley Room. The building also has auditoriums, seminar rooms and flexible areas for exhibitions, networking and dining. Rooms can be arranged for different formats, and the venue team can help with planning and the practical details of a booking. The setting is suitable for professional events as well as private celebrations, with wedding receptions specifically catered for across a range of room sizes.

In-house services include seasonal food and drink, with menus available for conference catering, receptions and formal dinners. An audiovisual team supports presentations and other technical requirements, including virtual and hybrid event formats. Accessibility is considered throughout the venue, with lifts or ramps serving meeting and event spaces, accessible toilets and hearing assistance options in selected areas.

Set in London's W1 district, 1 Wimpole Street is within walking distance of Oxford Circus and Bond Street stations. Event planners can enquire about room hire, catering and technical support through the venue's sales team, which can help shape a suitable arrangement for the occasion, guest numbers and programme.
