The Grand | Ritz Theater

The Grand | Ritz Theater is a historic event venue in downtown Escondido, offering distinctive spaces for organisers planning weddings, corporate gatherings, fundraisers, private parties, concerts and theatrical productions. Its restored 1937 setting pairs period character with contemporary event facilities, giving planners a choice of spaces and formats under one roof.

The main Ritz Theater auditorium is suited to performances and larger presentations, with a stage, professional sound and lighting, video projection and seating for up to 477 guests. The second-floor Juniper Room and mezzanine provide a more adaptable setting for networking, celebrations, rehearsals and group gatherings, with capacity for up to 150 people. Smaller meetings and activities can be arranged in one of six studios.

For receptions and celebrations with an outdoor feel, the rooftop lounge accommodates up to 150 guests and offers views across the surrounding area. Food and beverage service can be arranged through available options. The venue also includes a spacious lobby, green rooms and additional multipurpose areas, allowing event planners to shape a layout around their programme, whether that involves a seated audience, a social gathering or a production with backstage requirements.

Event organisers can discuss rental options with the venue team, request a walkthrough and submit an enquiry with their preferred date, space and event details. Conveniently placed near downtown Escondido parking, restaurants and cafés, The Grand | Ritz Theater serves organisers from Escondido and nearby North San Diego County communities. Its mix of a functioning performance theatre, smaller rooms and rooftop space makes it a flexible choice for both arts-led events and private or business occasions.
