Designate @ The Gate

Designate @ The Gate is a private-hire venue in Matlock, offering a relaxed, individual setting for celebrations, business gatherings and group occasions. Organisers can book a private room or hire the whole venue, with space for celebrations of up to 65 guests. The venue is available for birthdays, anniversaries, hen parties, wedding parties, baby showers, children’s parties and other get-togethers.

For business events, the space can host informal meetings and group sessions, with room to take breaks or enjoy refreshments. A microphone, projector, Wi-Fi and tea and coffee can be arranged on request. Organisers can choose catering options to suit the occasion, including home-cooked meals, buffets, afternoon tea and cakes. There is also a licensed bar serving a selection of drinks, and outdoor areas, including a beach garden, can add another option when the weather allows.

The venue offers more than a place to gather. Groups can arrange craft workshops, children’s activities or cocktail-making as part of their event. For celebrations that run late or visitors travelling from further afield, three ensuite rooms provide on-site accommodation for groups of up to 18. Organisers can choose the level of support they need, from using the space for their own plans to arranging food, drinks and activities with the hosts. This makes the venue suitable for private celebrations, small group meetings and creative gatherings in Matlock.
