Haverty Family Yards

Haverty Family Yards is a large outdoor event space at Union Station in downtown Kansas City, suited to organisers seeking an open-air setting for celebrations and public gatherings. The approximately one-acre site can host up to 2,500 guests, making it a flexible choice for grand receptions, galas, weddings, corporate events, concerts, festivals and other outdoor occasions. Its setting beside the historic station and active railway adds a distinctive sense of place to events of many kinds.

The venue is available to hire throughout the week, subject to availability and holiday exclusions. Organisers can work with Union Station’s events team to discuss the space, check dates and plan the practical details. Accessibility is provided, while available amenities can vary according to the season and event requirements. Tables and chairs are generally included with venue rentals, although additional quantities may need to be arranged through the venue’s designated supplier. High-speed internet is available across the station, with dedicated connectivity available by request.

Food and drink arrangements can be coordinated through Union Station’s exclusive caterer, and food trucks may also be booked through its events team. The site is appropriate for both private functions and larger public productions, though public festivals, concerts and ticketed events require management approval and may have different pricing and operating requirements. Guests can use Union Station’s multi-level parking garage, with advance parking options available. From an intimate outdoor reception to a sizeable community event, Haverty Family Yards gives organisers a generous, adaptable venue in a landmark Kansas City location.
