Hardscrabble Ranch

Hardscrabble Ranch is a secluded Montana event venue offering a memorable setting for weddings, corporate retreats, family reunions, private celebrations and multi-day group gatherings. Set on a spacious guest ranch near Bozeman, the property combines mountain scenery, open lawns, creek frontage and a relaxed rural atmosphere with practical facilities for event organisers.

The ranch’s main event space is a 4,800-square-foot barn that can accommodate more than 200 guests for ceremonies, receptions, dinners, meetings and celebrations. Outdoor areas include a ceremony lawn with views towards Ross Peak, a pavilion, an outdoor kitchen, fire pit and spaces for lawn games. The venue provides a useful selection of essentials, including tables, chairs, dinnerware, glassware, an indoor bar set-up and support with setting up and clearing away furniture.

Hardscrabble Ranch is particularly suited to destination weddings and residential retreats. Two lodges provide year-round accommodation, while seasonal glamping tents offer a closer-to-nature experience beside Brackett Creek. In total, the property can host up to 54 overnight guests, allowing groups to stay together throughout a multi-day event. A private hideaway is also available for bridal preparations, photography and additional accommodation.

Corporate organisers can use the ranch for team offsites, leadership meetings and company retreats, with optional help from an on-site event coordinator and access to trusted local suppliers. The property also offers hiking and biking trails, fishing access, farm animals, firepit gatherings and support with arranging activities such as horseback riding, rafting and fly fishing. Wedding clients can choose their own caterers, decorators, photographers, DJs and other event professionals, making the venue a flexible base for personalised celebrations.
